From vision to blueprint to breaking ground, I PROMISE Housing has been a labor of love. For our I PROMISE families, it will be a resource, a safe haven, and finally, an affordable home. For the LeBron James Family Foundation and our partners at East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation (EANDC), it’s another layer of support for the families and the community that we call home. And it’s currently a beautiful work in progress.
We recently celebrated the “Topping Off Ceremony” at I PROMISE Housing, a milestone that marks the final pieces of roof being installed on the building. As part of this tradition, key people involved in constructing the property sign a plank of wood to be kept somewhere in the building. Our special plank will be preserved in the lobby as a testament to every single person and pair of hands that helped make this dream a reality for our families.
