IPS Athletics

It’s been a long time coming. The student athletes. The uniforms, the shoes, the rehearsed routines, the heart and the hustle. The “I-P-S” chants in the stands, the choreographed steps at center court. Every bucket and every high five. All of it represents a dream turned reality for LeBron, the Foundation, and our I PROMISE students and families. Welcome, officially, to sports at the I PROMISE School. 

Sports have the power to galvanize a group. To motivate, connect and elevate a collection of individuals into a TEAM. A family on and off the court. They can teach you the fundamentals, but more importantly about teamwork, commitment and heart.

For its inaugural Winter sports season, IPS now proudly has girls and boys basketball teams, a step team, and a cheer team. These are our trailblazers changing the environment at school and on courts across the community.

They’ve worked hard to earn the opportunity to play sports and step and cheer, and work even harder to deliver for their teammates.

No matter the score, sports at IPS are already a win. A win for our students, for school spirit, for motivation and pride in being part of something greater than yourself.

Thank you to all the teachers, partners and parents who have come out to support and cheer. Thank you to our family at Nike for surprising our players with special I PROMISE LeBron 20s, and to the Dick’s Sporting Goods Foundation for making this season and sports at IPS possible. These all-stars are just getting started.
