Glowing and Growing

Life is all about growth. And in Akron, we put a little extra pride in our hard work as we go. So it’s fitting that at the I PROMISE School, there’s a special event called Glow and Grow that celebrates our students’ growth over the past academic year. With the lights down and the DJ up, our students absolutely glow while their achievements, both big and small, take center stage. 

And our IPS news team continues to grow as well. Alongside our partners at WKYC and Kaulig Companies, our student reporters have developed new skills, increased their comfort level on camera, and interviewed some of our town’s biggest newsmakers inside the Kaulig Media Lab on campus. Their long-running “3 Questions” interview series on WKYC recently celebrated a year on air, with plans to keep leveling up as their work continues. 

Life is all about growth. And in Akron, we put a little extra pride in our hard work as we go.

Speaking of more, we want to make sure we shout out our family at Swensons who always show up to feed our kids and so much more.

During this first season of IPS Athletics, Swensons is providing meals for not only our incredible athletes and coaches, but also the visiting teams they are playing against at all of our home games. Because all meals are better shared as family. 

t’s been a great start to the new year so far, and we’ve got more to come as the I Promise movement continues to glow and grow down Market Street. Stay tuned for lots of exciting news in the coming weeks!
