As the family meal and celebration of an extraordinary life and perseverance all around continued, Dean Eboni Pringle announced Asakee Asanarii, a former 330 Ambassador, as the recipient of the Jayden Shippe Lane Scholarship. Having been personally touched by Jayden’s legacy, we have no doubt Asakee will continue to make an impact in whatever they take on next.
The Jayden Shippe Lane Scholarship will be given out annually to an incoming LJFF freshman attending Kent State University. To contribute to this scholarship for future students, you can click here.
This month we also celebrated mental health day, with mental health being an area we champion alongside our families. We continue to create environments where love and support are at the forefront, and where all feelings, fears, or trepidations are welcomed to the table. Between our I Promise School, I Promise Village, I Promise Institute, and all of our endeavors, we want to make sure our kids and their families get what they need to survive. All of our work in these spaces would not be possible without the support of our family at the Peg’s Foundation. From providing counselors, supporting our families in times of crisis, and guiding us on how to increase our mental health supports, they have been critical to our work in this important area.
We can’t wait to see what comes next with this incredible family by our side!
