At the I PROMISE School, we do things a little differently. While we work to serve both our students and their entire families, we are always looking for ways to bring new learnings to life and offer real-world examples of progress and inspiration. This week, the I PROMISE School got a special visit that provided just that.

The NBA knows him for his work as CEO and Founder of Klutch Sports Group, the powerhouse sports agency representing some of the biggest athletes in sports, but to us and to the kids in Northeast Ohio, Rich Paul is family. His story is one of perseverance and passion and uplifting others as you go – all things we’re striving to instill in our next generation of leaders in the I PROMISE program.

Rich has never forgotten where he’s come from, and that’s an important message to send to the kids in Akron looking for hope and inspiration for their futures.

During a recent trip home, Rich visited the I PROMISE School to spend time with the students and share stories – not just about what it’s like to be an NBA agent and entrepreneur, but what it’s like to overcome immense obstacles and to never let anything deter you from chasing your dreams. He also reinforced the importance of family – and not just your blood family, but your found family as well – the teachers, friends, and community who support you throughout your journey.

He also shared valuable insights and experiences in entrepreneurship, goal setting, asking questions, and the importance of listening. But what may resonate most is his relatability to what many of our students are facing. Rich knows the struggles and the hard times, but he’s been able to persevere through it all to become one of the most influential agents and entrepreneurs of his time.

Rich has never forgotten where he’s come from, and that’s an important message to send to the kids in Akron looking for hope and inspiration for their futures. His presence and his belief in them shows them anything is possible if you work hard and dream big.
