Spreading the Movement

This all started with a kid from Akron who had really big dreams. A kid that believed in bringing his hometown and everyone around him up alongside him. After a couple decades of tireless work, that dream has manifested in a movement and a monument inspiring greatness in everyone.

In Oregon, that has come to life in the newly unveiled LeBron James Innovation Center on Nike’s campus. For the company that took a chance on a skinny kid from Akron, the building represents the future of game-changing products and life-changing experiences for athletes from every walk of life.

The state-of-the-art building named after LeBron is a testament to his hard work and commitment to innovation in everything he does.

With the goal to “understand unique needs and opportunities, contextualize challenges, and generate breakthroughs across the spectrum of play and movement in a variety of environments,” the state-of-the-art building named after LeBron is a testament to his hard work and commitment to innovation in everything he does.

In Pennsylvania, the I PROMISE Movement has made its way to McKeesport, a community connected to us through the DICKS Sporting Goods Foundation, that whole heartedly embraces our “We Are Family” philosophy. After replicating some of the I PROMISE pillars in one of their newest public schools, the community in McKeesport is ready to take the I PROMISE approach a step further through learning about our 330 Ambassador program.

To make this a learning experience for our 330’s as well, they traveled to Pennsylvania to share what life is like as a 330 tasked with serving LeBron’s students and community. Over card games and deep conversations about the work and the mission, our 330 Ambassadors left the McKeesport community inspired and ready to take action.

As LeBron’s work expands, the movement keeps getting bigger and bigger. We are humbled and excited about every single opportunity to continue building this important legacy… from Akron to Oregon, Pennsylvania, and beyond.
