Finding Joy

If you look hard enough, you can find just about anything. You can find something lost, something you never knew existed, or something that’s been hidden. Or you can find something you feel, not see. Right now, our I PROMISE students and families are finding all of the above.

On Easter Sunday, our I PROMISE Village families went on a wild hunt to find easter eggs filled with treats. Thanks to our family at Chase and Lanza Design, it was an afternoon full of finding joy in the little things – eggs and all.

Recently our I PROMISE students found unique species and explored an amazing place in their own backyard with a field trip to the Akron Zoo.

We are so thankful our families have committed to this journey with us to find joy, happiness, and a better future for everyone in our community and beyond.

On an outing hosted by Akron Public Schools, our 6^th graders came face to face with tigers, bears, bats, red pandas, Komodo dragons, and more, interacting with incredible animals from every kingdom. They also found pure happiness on the carousel, one of their favorite parts of the day.

In celebration of Earth Day, our I PROMISE families found new ways to help the planet through a fun and food-filled night at the Village. Along with our friends from Old El Paso and JoAnn’s, our families learned how to compost and reduce waste while participating in an educational exercise in sustainability that ultimately ended in a shared family meal. By the end of the night, they found how to have a positive impact on the planet while also finding hope in our collective efforts to make a difference.

All things, both big and small, are found when we choose to look for them. We are so thankful our families have committed to this journey with us to find joy, happiness, and a better future for everyone in our community and beyond.
