A Growing Promise

As a Foundation serving kids with big dreams, we warmly embrace big ambitions. When we released our first children’s book, I Promise, in 2020, we did so with the hope that students and families around the world would hear those words and be inspired to chase greatness, be kind, dream big and keep their promises. But never in our wildest dreams could we imagine the incredible response the book continues to have nearly two years later.

To see social posts from teachers and educators across the country of them reading I Promise in their classrooms… to hear from parents who are reading it to their families at bed time… and to see countless kids’ art inspired by the book is the dream come true.

But never in our wildest dreams could we imagine the incredible response the book continues to have nearly two years later.

To receive word that I Promise is now available in nine languages and realize that means children around the world are hearing its message of strength and positivity is beyond.

It's proof that positivity and love can prevail. That words do matter. That encouragement and hope are some of the best gifts you can give to a child. That promises are worth keeping.

In Akron, our promises continue to grow as our family of supports and partners continues to expand. Rue21 recently joined our family as our partners in Loads of Love, the laundry facility located in our Family Resource Center that provides clean clothes and a dose of confidence for our families daily.

Partners are what make the resources, and the promises possible. Thank you for believing in our promises and being a part of our family!
