👑 Summer Send Off
Before the school year comes to an end, our scholars at the I PROMISE School still had some business to take care of this week in the classroom and beyond.
Over on the track, our IPS boys and girls track and field teams made some noise at the City Championships. IPS had a strong showing, with the boys placing in the 100M dash, 1600M, 4x100M, 400M dash, 200M dash, 4x400 and the high jump. The girls also placed in the 1600M, 4x100M, 400M dash, 800M, 4x400 and the long jump. IPS student athlete Jordan Spaulding blazed a trail and set a new Akron Public Schools electronic record for the 400M dash. The IPS boys and girls teams both finished with a 5-1 overall record in another incredible season of speed, resilience, and team work.
Back at school, the year was not complete without a proper send off from a certain kid from Akron. On their last day of the school year, LeBron surprised his I PROMISE School students of every grade level with a special send off. Offering a message of encouragement, perseverance, and inspiration, LeBron sent the students off into summer break with a sense of purpose and positive energy. It's been an exciting year for our I PROMISE students who continue to push through adversity to defy the odds and achieve amazing things. We look forward to a fun summer of educational and family programming opportunities for all of them.
