The creativity was buzzing in the art classes at the I PROMISE School last week. Our students' imaginations ran wild as they created mixed media drawings of their favorite characters and fun paper plate art that will live throughout the halls of IPS. Every student's unique personality beamed through each piece of artwork, and their imagination continued to blossom. We could not have done this without amazing partners like Good Tidings Foundation and LeRoy Neiman Foundation, who provided our students with all the tools to continue to create endless possibilities. Good Tidings Foundation and LeRoy Neiman Foundation work together to renovate art studios for students in schools and community centers in areas of need and provide art supplies annually in perpetuity. In a time when the arts are underemphasized, it is special to be able to provide spaces for students to feel empowered and inspired. Though IPS's art classrooms didn't need to see a complete renovation, we are proud to be the beneficiary of art supplies for a lifetime!
Speaking of amazing partners, last week one of them held a very special event for their Private Bank clients at House Three Thirty. JPMorgan Chase Bank hosted a group of their very special clients with a talk surrounding philanthropic giving and leaving a legacy. Guests experienced the high level of customer service through House Three Thirty that Chase consistently provides in their branches and community centers here in Akron and every time they sit in front of our I PROMISE families. After a great conversation and reflection, guests were invited on a tour of House Three Thirty which ended with a LeBron James Home Court experience. A huge thank you to the JPMorgan Chase team for the continued support and partnership. That's not all, as partnerships run deep with the Foundation! In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Akron and JOANN, the I PROMISE Village will soon be putting on a little handmade happiness at House Three Thirty. With the goal of making over 100 blankets for the Village and Access Shelter, we will be holding this community service opportunity in House Three Thirty's Cabaret on Saturday, October 5th from 9am-2pm. We invite you to join us as well... feel free to bring your family and friends to help us reach our goal!
Finally, don't miss the opportunity to come cheer on the IPS soccer team once again. They've got a match-up today at Innes at 4:30pm and on Monday, September 23rd at 4:30pm against Buchtel at the Copley Rd Soccer Complex.
