👑 Finding a Spark at Stark
WHEN GREATNESS IS THE GOAL, THERE ARE NO DAYS OFF.
It may have looked like a typical day away from school, but we took the recent Friday off as an opportunity to continue our I PROMISE students' Learning and exploring pathways to a better future.
That meant 15 of our students got to spend the day at Stark State College immersed in college courses and career offerings across campus. With a full scholarship available to all of our eligible I PROMISE Network students, Stark State represents another avenue to pursue post high school. On this Fall day, they got to tour the main campus in Canton as well as the Akron and CDL campuses and explore the various niche sectors their classes cover including occupational therapy, 3D printing, construction management, electrical technology, healthcare labs, truck driving, welding and more. Our students learned tips to regulate their nervous system, how to program CAD software into 3D printing models, and the difference in pay and responsibilities between RNs, LPNs and CNAs.
It was the first time our students got to experience Stark State in this comprehensive way, and it will not be the last as it sparked something deep within them.
As they begin to see more possibilities for their futures, we continue to open doors and connect them to real-world opportunities to make their dreams a reality. With that as the mission there are no off days.
