👑 Bringing FAMILY Together

As the evenings turn dark much earlier and the weather turns cold, it seems like the world gravitates toward staying in and hibernating. But one team and partner traveled across the country, allowing us to host them right here in Akron this past week. Fenway Sports Management (FSM) assembled their team members together from across the county in our favorite hometown for their team offsite. FSM is not only a business partner of LeBron's but also a great supporter of the Foundation. Their reach spans from the Boston Red Sox to the Pittsburgh Penguins to RFK Racing to Liverpool Football Club and so much more. And woven into the FSM team's journey as a company is Akron, Ohio. 

No sooner did the FSM team make it into the 330, they hit the ground running with their first stop at the I PROMISE School. They were greeted by Principal Davis before sending them off to different locations throughout the school where they had opportunities to work on a few community service projects with our students. Some of our middle school students including our House Leaders joined forces with some of the FSM team to knock out a bunch of tie blankets that are being gifted to a local assisted living facility. Our 3rd, 4th & 5th graders, along with their new friends from FSM, had the opportunity to make family cards that will be included with our Thanksgiving meal deliveries going out later this week to 500+ families in the l PROMISE program. Nothing like a good craft to bring family together! 

Following a packed afternoon at IPS, our FSM family headed over to House Three Thirty where they spent the next day and a half connecting, building, planning and growing as a team. They experienced all House Three Thirty has to offer and we were so incredibly honored to be able to host their offsite and showcase the city we are so proud to call home and the community we are so proud to call family.

Not only can a good craft or a nice meal bring family together but also a fun, family-friendly game of... life-size LeBron + Nike Monopoly in the J.M. Smucker Co. Hometown Hall at House Three Thirty! A group of I PROMISE School 6th-8th grade students earned the opportunity, based on the school's new foul system, to participate in the experience. They had the chance to travel the custom life-size Monopoly board that filled Hometown Hall, taking them on a little walk through LeBron's life and career. Our students had the opportunity to earn, spend and invest Bron Bucks, and they walked away with the newest LeBron James Nike Monopoly board and some sweet items from this Nike x Monopoly collaboration. There's nothing we love more than when people take the time to appreciate what makes our city so special. We are grateful to partners who make Akron the centerpiece for experiences like these and showcase all the amazing people who make us proud to say WE ARE FAMILY.
