From the desk of David W. James, Ed.D, superintendent...
Governor Mike DeWine announced today that schools in Ohio will remain closed for the remainder of
the school year. We now focus on the last month and a half of online classes and continue working on
plans for summer and next fall. Much will depend upon things still out of our control, as you know.
Also, today, Akron Public Schools begins registration for the 2020-21 school year. Go to our website
akronschools.com for more information and to sign up. This is especially important for our incoming
kindergartners whose families never got to enroll because our open house and registration fell on
March 19, right as schools were shutting down due to COVID-19. Hundreds of families have been
inquiring about when this would happen. It begins today.
Wash your hands. Stay well.
